Domaine Cheveau is a wonderful family story.
André, a forester, and Marcelle settled in Pouilly as sharecroppers in the 1950s. Michel joined his father in the 1970s. He married Jocelyne, daughter of vintners from Saint Amour. The two manage the plot in Pouilly, the heart of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation. Nicolas created a new wind in 1999, along with his wife Aurélie who joined him in 2002. Today, the Domaine thus consists of 3 passionate winegrowers, 15 hectares of Chardonnay (3rd generation), 5.5 hectares of Gamay grapes (6th generation), 120,000 bottles, and a recognized know-how.
'Le Bouteau' is a classic, savory red wine full of finesse and minerality with notes of black fruit and moka. 100% Gamay grapes aged 25 months in wooden barrels. Pair it with pasta, duck, cured meats, pork, or veal.
